I have a question - I am getting a new 1.2 Easy with the Brio pack at the end of the week. I've seen some with the chrome exhuast and some without. What dictates whether or not mine will have the exhaust? I hope it does, it looks smart .

I believe the chrome exhaust comes standard on all models except the Pop. So yes your Easy should deffo have it. I've just checked in the brochure and the chrome exhaust is listed as standard equipment on the Easy, GBT and Sporting. I've just had a new Sporting so I still have the brochure lying around! Is it a brand new Punto you're getting?

Yes thank you! I have been looking on auto trader and there a quite a few that do not have the exhaust in easy & GBT, is this a new thing on the newer builds?

I've looked on the online brochure, it's an optional extra on any of the models. So it all depends on if it was put on or not as it's one that they had in stock.

Hmmmmm...... That's strange, as it's clearly listed as standard on Easy, GBT and Sporting trim levels in the brochure I picked up from the dealership a fortnight ago! Also, in the brochure the 'wrap around' seats are listed as standard on the Easy. Yet when you look online, some have them and some don't, same with the chrome exhaust :-S Nothing like consistency! What colour have you gone for?

Ambient white :) not my favourite colour, but they wouldn't order one from the factory for me so I had limited choice. I guess I'll find out when I get it about the exhaust - not the biggest issue but I do think it makes a big difference on the appearance.

The White is nice :) Is it going to be a brand new 14 plate? If so I think you might get the exhaust and the nicer seats. These weren't standard on the Easy when the original 2012 Punto range came out, but they revamped the trim levels a lot in 2013, and I think the Easy got some upgrades as standard. I hope so anyway :)

Yup 14 plate :) and I've been reading about the trim upgrades. Sporting is the only one that got the exhaust and everything else but I think more recently they may have added more. It does have the nicer seats though.

Good stuff! I hope you do get the exhaust. Let me know :) I picked mine up just less than two weeks ago and I love it. Miles better fuel economy than my last car too!

Well my Sporting is a bit hammered, its giving me 19 MPG - so I'm going to be amazing when I can push 50 :D.

Bloody hell! Haha, I had a Focus ST before my Punto and I was getting an average of 24mpg. I'm now averaging 40mpg so much happier, though much slower!

Nice! Was your sporting brand new? Are new cars given a reg number when you buy it or when they land in the UK?

Yeah brand new, but came from a showroom in the UK. Was registered officially from the day I collected it, but the dealership obtained the reg from the DVLA a few days before. All very exciting stuff! :) When do you collect yours?

Tomorrow night hopefully! I have to go over today to sign & finalize the papers. The Salesman said he will try get it from the compound today so it's ready tomorrow night. If he can't get it ready for tomorrow then I'm hoping friday, but with it being bank holiday it may be a struggle for them with limited staff in :(.

Fingers crossed!

Hi there

all cars which are version 8 puntos which have the better seats from easy model upwards will have the built on chrome exhaust trim

regards

As above, I believe the more heavily bolstered seats (previously on the Sporting) plus the chrome exhaust both became standard on Easy/GBT part way 2013 as part of the Punto 'Series 7' changes (Grande Punto was effectively S3 & S4, Evo was S5 and Punto 2012 S6 & now S7, it would seem).

Pop models also gained the nicer dashboard (previously the Punto 2012 Pops had the old Grande dashboard) and body-coloured door handles (previously black).

Dealers seem to have new brochures (think it has an Orange Punto on a white background) but the online brochure may not be updated - the all-too-common inconsistency from Fiat UK strikes again perhaps.

Yeah that's the brochure I've got. Thought I'd read the chrome exhaust is now standard from the easy up :)
