Hi Everyone, my first post!

Well unfortunately it's not a happy one - last night my '08 1.3 Doblo Multijet van completely conked out on me and I was wondering if anybody can shed any light as to possible causes please?

I was travelling at about 60mph and something just juddered slightly, then the van came to a complete halt. The engine turns over but nothing fires up. I've had a look under the bonnet but tbh it is all a bit alien under there for me I'm afraid. I did however slightly loosen one of the pipes that pushes the fuel into the chamber then quickly turned the engine over to see if the pump was working, which it was. But apart from that I'm completely stumped!

assuming you can see the cams when you remove the oil filler cap on top of engine..,
crank the car on starter.. ( or better rock it over in gear..)

and see if cams move.. if the cam chains broken the cam's wont move.. when the rest ( bottom half) of engine does,
