Hi
The wifes car, so getting info is like wellllll

She has been complaing that her stilo cuts out so Ive been browsing on here to get some plan of attack.
I set to work today and cleanded the inlet which was pretty clean to start with.
I have also been checking votages first with engine off and then while running which seemed ok, could of done with a digi tester though or an analog with a range of 20v.
also tested around the engine capartment and body work to see if there was a differant reading, engine off and then on and all seems ok.

The tree occassions that the car has cut out it came up on the dash alternator something and then after that it said loose connection.
The car can be restarted instantly.
today while I had the car idling it did cut out first time I had the same alternator loose ir simular the second time loose conection. again instant restart.
After more tinkering and wire tugging and rocking componants all ran normal. So I decided to hit the fuse box and it does show some signs than moistoire has been present at some point and is in need of a stripdown and clean up.
The only common thing that happens is when the car is nearing normal running temp is when the car cuts out. once it is upto temp fully all seems ok.

Tonight I decided to take the car for a run as I rarely drive it myself and low and behold temp goes up to the first bar and nothing, second bar and nothing once it got between the 3 and forth bar (vertical of the dail) it cut out. felt like it just held back and a second later the dash lit up. Pushed the clutch in and turned the key, it restarted and off it went. temp hit vertical and then dropped a little as the stat opened and all was fine for about the 5 miles i drove it.

So now im confused as to why it is cutting out at the same temp range and not while at full temp running, which I would of expected if a componant was breaking down, like the crank sensor.
Any ideas ?

Forgot to mention that the car has just recently had a full service and MOT, all was fine.
I put it through the service after the car cut out the first two times and MOT was due, so it wasnt anything the garage did.

Sorted, I think !!!!!
Just taken the car out for its second run and no issues.
I replaced one of the red relays, I think it was in position T08.
Thought you would like an update as it now seems to be job done.

Oh and thanks for the welcome, very friendly !!!!!!
