Hi everyone, just joined today as I have been looking on here for a while now.I have owned my Barchetta for a few months now,i bought from my neighbour who has had it sat in the garage since 2004 without me knowing about it!.Currently not running but i am looking forward to sorting her out soon.

Welcome to the forum. There are lots of folk here to help out with advice on any problems you may have. Tell us more details - year , model etc and pix.
Good luck, good choice !

Welcome aboard, luvbar.

So it's been sat in your neighbour's garage for the best part of 10 years? Is it run in yet?!!

Hi all, thank you for your kind words,i feel right at home already. Will get some pics up as soon as I get some time

Im also Sussex based (near Brighton) Ive recently purchased 2 Barchettas, one i fell in love with which needs loads of welding its a great drive. Ive not the time to weld her up as yet.My silver one i got yesterday for peanuts which is really sound with a snapped cambelt. At some point i will use one for spares and the other as a summer fun car.

Welcome luvbar. As FIAT's range contracts it's really great to have a new member who doesn't have a GP, Panda or 500.

Hi fiats n alfas, welcome aboard.

Great to hear that you're a B convert, but slightly depressed to hear that one of your 2 Bs is destined for the scrap heap, once you've got the parts you need.

I look at it this way: Every time a B is scrapped, an angel sheds a tear.

But by the same token, I guess that ... Every time a B is saved from the scrapper, an angel sings!

So, you're saving one B, by sacrificing another?

I don't know what to say about that, other than, make sure you give the one you're scrapping a decent send-off by making a damned good job of restoring the other one! :)

PS and if you've got any roof rubbers going begging, please let me know!

Im now looking out for another so i can restore them both.It may seem a tall order but im not in a rush! Ive two Alfa spiders in need of restoration one a 78 which has sat still for around 7 years. Ive grown to love Italian convertibles im so busy it seems i shall only have time to do them when i retire in a few years in the mean time i will restore a Barchetta.Keep it to yourselves but its a nicer drive than a spider s4 or 916.
My silver Barchetta was a steal with a snapped cambelt a sound underside and good history why the belt was not changed is silly its a 2 hour job and £100 in parts including a waterpump.
