Hi, I'm researching into building an abarth 500 for rallying in next seasons British championship, so I'm looking for a cheapish base car to start with, (I don't necessary want to rip apart someone's pride and joy!) and any other tips or information regarding them,

I currently have an mitsubishi Evo 2, but she's ineligible for the British championship,

Have a look at
crosport.co.uk

It's getting updated but the basics are there!

Thanks Dave

Hi, and welcome, :)

the 500 section is a lively place with at least 1 x regular who has built rally cars in the past,
do you need an Abarth.. or is kitting a stock 1.2 an option?

I'm from an Enduro background so have an appreciation of what's needed to get around Welshforests quickly..;)

you'll get a Cat C early 1.2 500 for sensible money via ebay o r ins. disposal auctions (y)

all down to what you actually require,
Charlie

its for a potential abarth supported series so an abarth 500 would be ideal but a 1.2 500 and fit it with the 1.4 turbo and relevant parts,

and if it was from an abarth road car then the parts i dont require could be sold such as seats as an example so would get a little bit back like that

ok I see..,

so relatively few A 500's around, you'll be paying top-dollar for one in whatever condition,
all down to how stringent the rules of qualification are..,

you may have major issues buying all the necessary parts to go to A500 spec on a pop for example..,
my favoured Italian race bikes are basically race winners.. that you can buy with street kit.. rather than the reverse approach you are looking for ,
although of course if there are approaches to run a series.. you MAY have a decent support from the Fiat group..,

I'll try and find a link to something that MAY be of interest,
Charlie
