Hello all,

We came from Paris to Aberdeen in our little Fiat Panda CLX a few month ago. Now, I have to transform my car to the DVLA requirement.
The front bulb needs to be replace by UK's ones,
The rear fog light needs to change side from left to right,
The dial speedometer needs to display Miles per hour.

I hope to do most of the changes myself. I join this forum because it seems to be a good source of information.

I should have reply sooner. But I have never been good with forums in general. I expected to have a email alert as soon I someone answered.

My project was in standby, but I am starting again, since I met this French guy who told me it wasn't that difficult to transform a French car into a UK one.

welcome to the forum, and to Scotland! Those tasks should be relatively easy to do Just post in the wanted section for those a new dash, new front and rear headlights and jobs a good one

Bonjour Julien, c'est facile à transformer une voiture d'origine France pour rouler en Royaume Uni.

Il faut:
1. Changer les phares optiques avant ne pas juste les ampoules parce que le code est à gauche, pas à droite comme en France; On peut trouver les optiques occasion par www.ebay.co.uk;

2. Changer le compteur pour un compteur miles/kilometres - trouver un par Ebay pareille;

Hi Julien it's easy to to change a French Panda to drive in in the UK.

You will need:

1. To change the headlights, not just the bulbs, because the dipped beam is on the left in the UK not the right like in France; You'll find some on Ebay.co.uk;

2. To change the speedo so it reads in miles and kilometers - find one on Ebay.

Hi Julien. As the guys say its very easy to do. I have a 1999 Panda that came from France and I have just converted it to UK spec. Your biggest issue is the dash clock. I had to take apart a UK speedo and fit as the complete LHD binnacle has slightly different wiring to a UK one and if you do a straight swap some of the lights like demister and fog lights light when they should not. It is very easy to do though.
I don't think I kept the photo's but I'll check.

I would very happily do a straight swop for the French rear light's for UK ones.

Hi Stuartl,

I start filling the DVLA file, but I find it tricky and confusing. Even withe the V355/5 form (ie "Guide to filling the application for a first tax disk ...").
Do you happen to have a copy of your application? Since it is the same car, and comming from France, I could use it as a guide line to fill mine...
