Hello to everyone

I am Kevin Brown

I have just joined though met a number of you at the brilliant Stanford Hall event this year on 7th July.

I attended with my Fiat Strada Cabriolet (now very rare).

I also have a Punto mk 1 which I use for work.

Yesterday I came home from Leicester with our latest acquisition a Stilo Abarth.

This appears to be a nice 2004 model. It is a 2 door in black with with the manual gearbox. Time will tell ! My son Gavin will be taKing over the punto as he is now 17 and my wife Philippa and I thought that it would be nice to get something different.

Hoping to learn lots about the Stilo from the Fiat Forum.

Regards to you all

Kevin

Hi all

Thanks for the welcome!

Stilo Abarth update
This black beauty is now confirmed as a 16K genuine mileage beast although reg in 2004.

I have just got it back today from my local garage who have replaced the cambelt and water pump. Its nine years old and was on the original cambelt so I was driving very carefully until it was changed !! as you can imagine.

Weird that I bought this car on ebay from Leicester privately but when I saw it it was previously owned locally to me in Ringwood until 2012 and all the history is the local Fiat main dealer.

Oddly apart from the duel climate the spec is quite basic. The radio is even the cassette not CD.

I would like to upgrade this and get the sat nat/CD version.

I would also like to install the cruise control retrospectively.

Will be looking into this on the Fiat Forum.

Take care everyone.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kev lets have some photos! (y) the retro fit cruse control is dead easy and well worth doing.... the sat nav is not so easy as its not a straight swap. you need all the wiring loom and GPS antenna to be hardwired into the car to make the sat nav part work - it has been done before though but its a big job. That is strange about the head unit?? Maybe it was replaced with the cassette version for some reason?

Mine was also quite basic for the top range sports version too? No heated leather seats, sunroof, sat nav, cruise control........ Should have a lot more on really

I've got two CN+ units, one has a buyer and I'm currently using the other one, though if the correct offer comes about I'll be happy to let it go as I'm looking for an up to date double din LCD unit.

Here's a guide for retrofitting the unit:

https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-guides/70692-connect-nav-installation.html

I've not read through it myself but I reckon the radio functions and trip etc will work, you'd need a GPS/GSM receiver for phone and sat nav to work. When I retrofitted mine I had to change the whole dash loom, well I'm not sure if I absolutely had to but I was fitting the digital air con heater matrix and controls so the dash was coming out anyway, having a ready made loom was convenient enough :) if you're just fitting the CN+ then less work will be required I'm sure

Edit: Link to the guide for how I fitted the CN+, but as I said this is more than is required to fit just the CN+
