No power

Help!!! My 52 plate stilo abarth has got no power when setting of in the low gears until around 3500 revs. It has only just started to do this. Was hoping for some ideas or advice to what might be causing this problem. Many thanks and hope to get some advise soon as its driving me crazy

Re: No power

Are they prone to just going and is a cheap and easy fix or is it a trip to the garage. Cheers for the reply

Re: No power

yeah sure, all MAFS fail at some point, you may not even notice the decline in power over time because its so slight.

easy check - unplug it - if the car drives the same as with it plugged in, then its likely to be your MAF although I would expect the EML to come on but it might be a stored code or the Abarth doesn't generate a warning (I don't know much about the Abarth).

You don't need a garage for this, the MAF is attached to the air intake before the engine, you can see it sticking out the top with a plug going in the top. Unplug that and try drive it. If its WORSE, then tis probably NOT your MAF.

Re: No power

Exhaust Gas recirculation, a system that puts exhaust gasses back into the engine. Worth checking and blanking, if the Abarth has one...?
