Hi everyone

I have just purchased a 2002 fiat Ulysse 2.0 jtd diesel, the only fiat I have previously owned was a 1993 1.9 diesel Punto and that owned by a friend who uses it as a van for his plastering buisness is still going strong. First impressions of the Ulysse is good it rides lovely and the fuel gauge hardly moved in the 120 mile I drove it home, it has full service history owned by a charity from new and has a genuine 112,000 mile with the old MOT's to back it up. faults found so far are , the nearside rear door does not open from the outside, offside rear door does not lock when the car is locked using the fob key, and there is a rattling from what I assume is the gearbox clutch area when the car is warm and Idling, this disappears if you pick the revs up slightly, any suggestions? you also hear the noise which is metallic when the car is switched off on that final engine rev. checking the history it had a new clutch at 87,000 so Im thinking gearbox ? If there are any problems with this vehicle I need to look out for please contact me or post a reply.

G-box is a posibility = so too is a worn-out Dual Mass Flywheel ,
DMF's are a consumable / wear + tear item ,
do a SEARCH on here,

it may be something simpler - BUT a DMF or G-box are not cheap fixes,

Just come back to the forum after 3 years trouble free motoring with the Ulysse, loved the car but unfortunately stuck it in a ditch a few weeks ago causing uneconomical to repair body damage, just thought I would post that I had the rattle sorted it was the dual mass flywheel which a friend of mine replaced with conventional flywheel conversion, car is now in a local breakers if anyone needs a good engine.
