Hello everyone, I am new to the world of forums, I hope this arrives where it is supposed to.

We bought a 1990 Fiat Ducato Camelot last year, in a hurry, buy in haste repent at leisure. We have only used it for one week since then and it has rather unceremoniously failed it's MOT. We are having great difficulty sourcing spares but have succeeded with most things, but we need a wheel brake cylinder and so far cannot find one. Has anyone any ideas where we can find this part, and any other source for spare parts.

I'm not sure if you use EBAY , but a company called "jollygoodcarspares" of Newport Shropshire tend to list a lot of older model vehicle parts , and at "to-clear" prices..!! brake parts should be relatively easy,

I've a similar age ducato and YES parts are awkward,
quite a few specialists only advertise in the summer months - as that when campers see the light of day!!,

Thank you both for your replies, I will tell my husband to try all that you suggested, when he gets his head out from under the bonnet, the left rear wheel,the dashboard and front wheel hub ( just to name a few locations) and then I will contact the relevant sites. I laughed at one letter from a Newbie like me who commented on the pile of rust residue on his drive and his wife losing the plot and telling him to get it shifted. I know exactly how she feels, but then we all have our weaknesses, and mine is a greyhound. Fortunately not many spares required for her at the moment!

We sold our much loved Hymer last year as she was 30 years old, but we could still get parts for the Mercedes so I am astonished that bits for the Fiat are a bit like rocking horse whatsit. Would that we could have hindsight.

Incidentally I found the prices for new brake wheel cylinders are quite peculiar. One for a vehicle up to 1,800 kgs is significantly cheaper than the price we were quoted for a 2,450 kgs. one, which is the revenue weight of the Fiat Ducato. I am in charge of sourcing spare parts, so please excuse my errors in naming them.

During my "silver surfing" I discovered a website called 247carspares which was very good, but unfortuntely could not find us the windscreen wiper motor we looking for. They have found other bits for us though. I think we really did get taken for a ride when we bought this vehicle, but win some, lose some.
