Hi all,

I thought I would introduce myself as a new member, this is something I wouldn't normally do but it just seemed a good idea at the time. My son and I have recently purchased a 26 year old X1/9 and we intend to completely restore this car. Rather than keep this restoration to our selves we thought we would share a bit with other X1/9 enthusiasts and hopefully receive some advice on the way. I hope we do it some justice.

One problem I do have though, is trying to add some pictures, I have added a couple of pictures to my photo album unfortunately I'm not sure how to link them to this part.

Can someone please advise.

Dave

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the X1/9 purchase. Looking forward to hearing about what I'm sure will be an interesting restoration journey.

No idea how to post pics on here but I'm sure somebody will be along to help.

You just need to upload pics from your harddrive to an image hosting site like Image Shack, then copy and paste onto your post.

Hi,

Thanks for that info, I did try your suggestion however a massage keeps popping up telling that I can only post pictures once I have attempted 5 post.

So I'll Just add a few more non interesting posts.

Cheers

Hi
I forgot to mention there are a couple of pictures of the car on my gallery to view for now, I do have plenty to add later when I get started.

Re: Started to strip down my X19

Hi there,

I've started to dismantle my X19 and as I go through each part I have a good look at what needs to be repaired, cleaned and replaced.

I started to take my O/S wishbone off and strip it down there are many bits worn on it which I know will need to be replaced, however does any one have any suggestions on how to remove the hub bearings. I have a Haynes manual and followed some of the instructions but I don't thing this manual is any good as it suggests removal the same way as the front " I don't think this is correct."

Many thanks in advance

Dave
