Hi folks
I'm a new member. I have a Fiat Ducato motor home 2.3jtd 2005 with 31,000 miles. Just coming back from Lake District and the gears are becoming harder to select, mainly 1st and 2nd. The gear leaver selector has always been a bit stiff, but now it is getting harder and harder to waggle across the gate in neutral. I saw a posting that sounded like the identical issue, but can't find that person to see what happened, or what the result was? Someone said it may be linkage, cable or even gearbox. I'm hoping it's not the latter. Is there anyone who can help me?

Yes this is info I needed.
My Ducato is a five speed gearbox....are they all the same gearbox,linkage arrangement. Mine is a 2.3 jtd 2005. If so I will set about doing the job of removing this plate and lubricating.
Any other advice would be gratefully received.

I have just dealt with this and it was 3rd gear syncro wire spring that was bent and causing 3rd always to sync which made 1st and 2nd hard to engage
