Hi everyone, i'm a bit clueless about cars and would really appreciate some advice from all of you experts! I have a 58 plate Bravo 1.6 multijet. On Sunday the airbag warning light came on. Long story short, the dealership told me today my ECU needs replacedand it'll cost over £700! Loads have folk have said today that the car is quite young to have that type of problem and it could be down to manufacturing. I'm going to try and push this with the dealership. What are your thoughts??

I'd try and push it, not fit for purpose for something like that to fail at such a young age. Why are they saying it needs a new ECU? What's the fault code it's flagging up?

I don't know the code, but they said nothing they tried would clear it, and when they did further checks they found it to be faulty. The guy did give me more technical info but it just went right over my head :-(

Was it a fiat dealer? Is your Bravo one with the 5 year Warrentee?

Take that car back:thumb
Try and get someone to go with you who knows something about cars.
Stand your ground with this issue as it sound like a fob off to me.

Yes a Fiat dealer. Only had 3 year warranty.

Mine failed on me too.. around 6mths ago when my car was 4 yrs old...



Cost me 1,000 AUD..

So 700 pounds sounds about right...
