hi folks, problem. punto 1.2 2001 73000mile. When starting car seems to mis and try to stall. give it some throttle and then everything is fine (bit of judder when pulling away but believe this to be clutch plate). Engine light is on and code is P0351, primary/secondary A coil circuit? car has had new plugs, coils, and belt kit about three thousand miles ago. Coils were changed due to rough idle and known common fault. I'm pretty good on the mechanical side of things but electrics i need some help. any ideas?

Could well be the coils again but another fault may be making them faulty. As its electrically controlled you may want to test the alternator output, battery condition, ecu state etc. Or it's just bad luck that you got a short life coil.

Before replacing the coils or anything else, take a good look at the wiring & Earths. Pay special attention to the connectors on the Low voltage (Input side).

Hi: It would be a good idea to check the HT leads as well, look for any signs of rubbing & with the engine running look / listen for tracking to Earth, this can cause missing & also Damage the coil packs. Not particularly common but have seen it a few times lately on different cars.
