First place ,wanna say hello to everyone and great job with the website guys(y) ,well I need some advice as I don't have a clue where or who I need to direct myself :( .... Few days ago I bought a cinq 1.1 sporting, the car looks tidy for the age, and to honest I didnt know I could have so much fun driving the little toy around :D ....so much fun that since I have the cinq ,my 4.4 V8 is getting dust all around  ... Any way, the point is, I want to build the little toy for track days BUT still road legal, hmmmm does anyone know where I can get race parts such as suspension, roll cage ,mod brakes, and what engine should I use, 1.1 , 1.2 , 1.4 ? Turbo? Non turbo? Supercharger? I just don't want to mess up to much the weight distribution :yum: .....I love to enjoy a good pull at traffic lights  but I want power/grip working in harmony hehehe :D

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

The best suggestion I can make, would be to have a look at the Cinqs and Seis in the Members Motors section, there have been countless different setup's put together over the years (bear in mind these cars are almost 20 years old now!). Much better to have a look at what other people have done and decide from there which direction best suits you :)

Yeh u right, i want to have a look to some options, see what's best in terms of reliability, as I'm a heavy foot when I'm driving alone and I use the gearbox a lot for slow down the car even if it just a few mph.... I like to keep the pads quite cold when I really need them ;) thanxs for the help !

Hi andy! Hmmmm do u know the weight difference btw 1.1 engine and 1.4? Coz it cross for my mind to fit a UNO turbo engine..... But they are so easy to find I think...

Dont bother with uno tub engine way too much work and some say they dont handle(n)(n) have a look at my thread as ive done the 1.4 16v and 6 speed conversion and all i can say is hang on and point it where you want to go:D:D:D:D:D

the more modern 16v engines are quite light.. they are made of a lighter alloy than the original 1108cc engine as so don't weigh alot more as far as i know.

UnoT/PuntoGT engines are a very very old design and much heavier and it is said that they induce alot of understeer so not great for a track weapon, but fun nonetheless. It has been done but probably harder than the 16v.

I myself have a turbo converted 1108 and it is great fun but your pushing alot from the old thing and servicing it is quite expensive. A 1.4 16v i'm sure would be as fast or faster on a track. Also worth pointing out that with a 1.4 16v conversion your ending up with a car as powerful as my turbo but is essentially a stock motor (bar induction and exhaust for obvious reasons) and so it really quite an economical car to drive and will be RAPID!

You want a complete beast of a car try fitting a 1.4 t-jet, also has been done but not sure if anyone in UK has done it yet, the Polish boys & girls have though.

Hmmmm... I would like to try the turbo version with the 1.1 .....how much in average u think I would spend to make it run? And what parts do I need to get to get the job done? ...but I think 1.4 16v will be the best option, I'm just kind confused coz I don't have a clue how fast it can be, not top speed, but a good torque feel :D hehehe, don't take me wrong guys, I'm not a show off person, but I always been used to anything who have more than 2.0l and 4 cylinder and the last 3years all RWD, so I kind lost the feeling of what can be or not :(

Supercharge a 16v!!

Im building a track cinq, not cheap but i dont care.

OMP Roll cages can be bought from demon tweeks, dont know where you get sparco cages from
Coil overs can be bought from Avo
Brakes from a bigger fiat/alfa bolt straight on or for bling, any universal racing caliper with mounts to suit
Numerous wheels to fit over the brakes can be found on fiats/alfa again
Quaife do a LSD

id go for the 1.4 16v for the track, always preferd a powerfull n/a on track, if it was a fast road all smiles car then 1.4 16v tubby :)

Hmmm..... Thanks for the brand a brookie ! I had a look to Andys cinq and I did like it a look, I may do 1.4 16v conversion :) , any idea who make superchargers for the little toy? Jackson racing ? ....by the way guys apologise if I'm taking ages to reply but I'm getting lost all the time in the site :D

cost of turbo conversion varies to much on what your skills are, how much will be self-built etc etc. As well as how far you take said conversion as you don't really have to ever stop, there is always something you could do to improve it. You can't really put a price on it.

There isn't an off the shelf kit anymore, i don't think, not in the UK anyway. All the knowledge you need though is here on this forum so search away and ask what you still don't know.
