Just thought ide say hi

I have a 1974 fiat spider i bought in califonia in 1990 .It was an amazing 3500 k. trip home the following spring i thought ide do some work on the car....
Well marriage and kids are my excuses for the long delay and the car spent the next 15 years in the garage. last summer it was finaly done (the car not the marriage) and i got to drive it again, what a blast!
I had a friend help paint it another god bless her did the seats which turned out amazing ,I,myself did the door panels, dash faces ,resealed engine and trans. valve job and put in the xr3000 .Mostly im happy (still need to freshen up the suspension)but i fear it is running rich there are no emission controls left and my fear is confirmed by the black spots on my driveway.
This condition seems to be getting worse despite my efforts to correct the issue. Anyway rejetting the carb is what im guessing i have to do but for me parts are a long way off (4-5 days) and a trip to the US border.
I will continue to search the forum but any advice would be most appriciated
