Hi

I seem to get crunching of the gears when trying to select reverse,It happens more after the engine has warmed up.

If I stop the engine , then select reverse and re-start it,it goes into reverse ok.

Also when engin is cold it goes into reverse ok

All the other gears are ok, just reverse.

I have 1900 elx jtd multipla 2002 reg.

Anyone experience this also or have any idear what might be the problem
Any replies apriecated.

sounds like the clutch master cylinder spring is on its way out, a common fault, it doesnt disengage properly, not noticable in forward gears, but starts with reverse and gets worse slowly, not too expensive, and a fairly easy DIY

HAd the same problem with my 105JTD - tried replacing slave cylinder and replaced spring, piston and seals in Master Cylinder - bled everything off and still having problems.

Car sometimes goes into gear and sometimes doesn't - also gets jammed in gear and then works perfectly again - purely at random.

Am tearing my hair out!!

Any ideas?

Pauliebear, had the same problem with my 110 JTD. Had a new clutch fitted, no more sticking gears!(y)
