I'm considering getting the ECU updated in my 2008 multijet Multi and wondered if anyone has had it done and how much it costs?
Thanks in advance.

All manufacturers update the software as part of the service schedule. I bought the car used so I don't know if it's had all or any of the updates and I just wanted to know if anyone had had it done recently and could give me an idea of cost and effectiveness.

The fuel consumption seems to be slightly high and there's a bit of turbo lag so I thought as we've replaced a few bits and repaired some other problems it might benefit from an update.

You are talking about remap?
You should get 163 hp and an extra 100ftlb torque.
Cost £300 approx. You send your ecu off to be remapped by their computer.
Why not an addon instead? Gives almost the same results but leaves the ecu as was.
Dont buy from china they can be less tha £3 but nothing in the box.
Try ebay and ask the seller for a guarantee , some cost about £20.
Let us know, Barry

I think the OP is simply talking about getting the car serviced and seeing if there are any outstanding updates to the ECU. Not a remap or anything.

Originally when the car was connected to Fiat's computer at routine servicing, any updates to the ECU would have been downloaded, i expect.

I imagine that Fiat has stopped issuing updates to the Multipla ECU, but if it had been privately serviced after the warranty had expired and it hasn't seen a main dealer since, there may be some updates outstanding.
