Hello. I've been away for a while but decided to give it another go with a low miles 2008 Multipla 1.9 Multijet.
On my way back from picking it up the Engine Management Light came on and it went into limp mode. The fault codes were associated with the EGR and MAP sensor. I replace the MAP and reset fault codes but no joy. As soon as the revs get up around 3800rpm it came back on. Tried resetting it again and reached between 70 and 80MPH and it came on again.
I then decided to check what looked like a newly fitted EGR and as expected it was brand new but whoever fitted it had made a complete hash of it. There were no gaskets and they had fitted a restrictor on the inlet instead of the outlet. All the joints were loose and they'd put the long bolts in the wron place so one of them had burst through the bottom of the hole and the other had just bottomed out before it got tight. I got a set of gaskets and put it all back together correctly and all bolts tightened.
I was sure I got to the bottom of the problem but as soon as I hit 3800rpm the light came on again. I'm now thinking it might have something to do with the Boost solenoid and wondered if it was possible to have the hoses on it the wrong way round?
