After 14 years / 165000km the timing belt broke on our beloved Multipla 1.6 16v. When we purchased the Multipla new in Jan 2004 we fitted a supercharger kit based on mercedes slk, custom engineered and programmed by TVS Engineering in the Netherlands. The supercharger is engaged electrically with a button on the dashboard and produces a spectacular increase in low end torque and power, to around 150 bhp. It's especially useful when driving fully loaded through the alps or drag racing on the autobahn. The kit has operated flawlessly since installation, we only once had to replace the clutch. We also had a beautiful fox red-brown top custom leather interior fitted to chairs, door panels, dashboard and cargo area lid which greatly improved the feel and robustness of the interior. So now we find it hard to scrap the car. However engine repair will cost several thousand euro so is not economically viable and I have neither the time nor the skills for a DIY. I would appreciate any suggestions or offers for the whole car or parts. The car is located in the Netherlands.

Good luck finding new home for your multipla.
Having a second hand engine fitted wouldn't be expensive and world be your cheapest option.

All your threads are on the forum.
you don't need to start any more new threads about your multipla.

What makes you think a replacement engine would cost thousands of pounds? As varese says, a basic 16V motor from a breakers should be very cheap. How much work was done to the internals of the original engine when the supercharger was fitted?

It would be a real shame to scrap what sounds like a unique car. Would love to see photos, both of the supercharger install and the interior.

Think u should first ask a good garage how much will it cost u to fix it , you will regret not fixing it , WE ( I include myself ) will not find another car so satisfying as our multiplas , I've got mine since 7 years , everyone laughs and says it's ugly , pope mobile , blab bla bla ,,,, but I love it my kids love it and I've also put some leather covers on seats and tinted glasses , 225/45r17 wheels and I wouldn't change it for anything --- if u were closer to Tenerife I would buy it with my eyes closed
