newby with dead beloved multipla ..

Hi, new here, 2 questions, my 'old' beloved car x reg (00)has died - engine siezed, would cost near £3000 to repair. it is high mileage at 90.000 currently sitting in repair garage yard - its got a fortune on it in spares - could I sell it ? I've been offered 500 but as you guys know the wing mirrors alone cost 120 ! I've always found multipla parts to be v. expensive and hard to get. difficult to get it towed home though !! Second question, jsut becasue of the fab 3 across the front design (and the boot space)I'm mad enough to want another one, waht kind of price should I be looking at ? Should I buy nearly new or 3 yrs old ? private or garage ? last one ate petrol - should I get deisel or petrol and convert to lpg ?

Re: newby with dead beloved multipla ..

Welcome to the Forum, I hope you enjoy looking around

Perhaps find another Multipla that has accident damage and replace your engine
Breaking it might be an idea, you can hire car trailers near me for about 25pound a day. As long as you know someone with a tow bar.
You could strip it and sell everything on ebay but then you still need to get rid of the shell at the end

I wouldn't buy a new one, you would lose a lot of money on it !!
I think as you said a 3 - 5 year old one is a good buy
I bought my x-plate for 4500 in April with an RAC years warranty from a private garage
A diesel version will cost you a bit more, but you will make that back with the fuel economy

Sometimes if you are really lucky, engines do appear on a certain web based auction site. I saw a 1.9JTD a couple of months ago for £1500 - keep searching don't give up on her.......
