OBD2 - Yes!

The socket is behind a small plastic cover low down on the dashboard, just in front of your right knee as you sit in the drivers seat.

Cheer's for the helpful reply's ....And its a OBD 11 model 9 pins so shortly will look for the obd socket and replace my serpentine belt touch wood ''. I had a quick look Charlie for that list for the obd codes but not found it yet will look again later. I also noticed the other day when I had my bonnet open a short twin core lead with what looks like a sensor unit on the end with a piece of flat plate swinging its only short so the area its off should be not far its branches out wire loom that goes to drivers side headlight so weather its been earth out to body or rad will have to take a pic if get stuck and post it on forum its like a car quiz game Thanks'

Cheers all and the OBD11 did fit and work it was where you said behind the blank take out on lower dash its was right in to the left and at the top with a black dust cover over the plug in which was tricky getting into socket and it read the fault was PO/235 Which showed in the turbo / super booster section has a circuit malfunction which I don't no where to start first so if anybody has had same code message would be glad of any reply's . I have put the new serpentine belt on took a bit of work but got it in the end and that squeak ,squeak noise has gone I was starting to hear it in my sleep. just worried if the fault will get worse if I drive short trips till I find the problem hope I can help anybody one day with any solved things I have come across. Thanks'

Do I take it that the Maxiscan MS309 is not suitable for my 2003 JTD as the advert for it states diesels from 2004 onwards ? Is there a scanner on the market for my model ?

OBD was essentially a USA standard, from @1996,

when we europeans took it on - in genreation 2 = OBD2 ( info)http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vgate-Sca...369487?hash=item4ab7cee50f:g:8O4AAMXQNo5TbowK

it was ALL Petrols from 2002, and ALL diesels from 2004

some are compliant WELL before that(y) (my 2001 Marea JTD as a prime example)

look at the MES website to see if yours is covered.. http://www.multiecuscan.net/SupportedVehiclesList.aspx

the ECU build dates are the key,;)
like punto's are stated as 1999 -( the start of the mk2)

Hi,
Probably a faulty boost sensor. It's mounted in the back of the inlet manifold. Fairly easy job. one plug and a screw. A search on here will turn up more information.
Robert G8RPI.
