thanks

Welcome to the forum. You didn't mention if yours is diesel or petrol... I've a diesel and can hopefully help you if yours is too. Others are more familiar with the petrol ones.

Water pump impeller loose on its shaft? At higher revs the shaft is spinning uselessly and not circulating the coolant.

thanks for your response i have now put a new water pump on and after a bit of messing about with the bloody timing belt everything is perfect it now stays on one or two barse in town and never goes above one bar on a fast run im soooooo happy

Was the impeller damaged??... if your not getting above 2 bars your stat ain't working right... no big deal but you'll have a cold cab in winter

i must say a big thanks to you guys every thing is tickety boo i have just done a round trip of 629 miles in the multipla, tempreture held at a constant 2 bars heater worked well not over hot but adequate the trip included a very cold trip up to glasgow and a terrible trip across the pennines on the M62 with lots of snow never froze so i guess the heater is ok, fuel economy was excellent so all in all im a multipla convert pulled really well with a very full load(4 adults and full band set up guitars amps and the like)so all in all im very happy
