Hi folks, after a few years break I'm back in a Multipla again and really pleased that I am.

I've just picked up a 35K mile, '08 plate Multijet which seems pretty good, but I have a few questions which I was hoping someone could assist with:

* Other than the obvious body differences and the multijet engine, are there any mechanical changes to the car that I need to beware of when buying spares?

* The engine sounds a little whiney, as if a belt is a little tight. A JTD I drove before buying this one sounded the same, but I don't recall my old JTD sounding like that - are they all like this or can someone point me in the right direction to check this out?

* Defrosting the screen - the heater fan works fine in the Auto or speeds 1-4 position, however, when I select "Def" the fan doesn't run - any ideas?

The def setting needs the engine to be warmed up, can't remember temp but it takes ages! My 04 doesn't whine, check drive belt?

Thanks for that. I'll have a look at the drive belt, it just sounds a bit tight. I'll try dropping the auxiliary belt off to check that it isn't an overtightened cam belt.

Maef setting should run the AirCon, it's the dry air that helps demist the Screen, worked from cold on both my '02 JTDs.
