Well guess what happened to our current Multi at around the same time this morning . . .

So it's 'arrivederci' to our second Multi.

Wife says she doesn't really want another, damn!
All those spares I collected from the last one . . .

Bloody hell BD. Lightning striking twice. Hope you're OK. Were you in the car when it happened? From the photo, looks like it could have been parked up.

Btw - what's that long pole?

0535 this morning (BMW phoned the police, the car did that is, not the owner, he scarpered!), we were all in bed, didn't hear a thing.

He certainly gave it a good thump!

Pole is the Lamp-post I was parked near, Multi got shunted back and left, flattening the Pole, and creating that huge depression on the left side.

Eldest Daughter was still out from the night before, Wife opened the door to blue flashing lights and a policeman calling her by name, you can guess what was going through her mind!!

Jesus christ!!! That's an almighty smash!! Thank god nobody was in that at the time!!

Probably looks a little worse than it actually was.

All the crumpled bits are the 'softer' stuff, Plastics, Wing, Rads.
There was no deformation of the Driver's Footwell, and the Driver's door opened/closed normally.
Wheel wasn't damaged, and the Tyre was still inflated.

Typical though, I'd only recently replaced both 'A'-Arms, the outer CV Joints, and all the Boots!
New Tyres at the front too.

Will have to see if I can salvage a few bits . . .

I believe a caution with the petrols is the one piece exhaust that from memory can only be had from Fiat ?

Sadly, and much as it pains me to say it, I've had to admit that we don't actually need another Multi now, not that it stops me wanting one of course . . . :(

It's only when you start looking at other cars that you realise what a brilliant design it is.

Tried a Honda Fr-V, similar layout on paper, but just doesn't work as well.
Even with the (non-removable) seats folded, not as much load-space, especially height-wise, and you're still lugging all that dead weight around.

Vauxhall Meriva, what a horrid little joke!

Will stick around for a while, might be able to help out with the odd problem.
When I get the time, I'll look out the spares I have, and stick them on here.

Like I said, we don't actually need one now.
Kids (4) are grown-up (still at home though ), eldest Daughter has her own car, and I'll be building a Trailer soon, which will serve for the Bike/junk-lugging jobs.

Decent size hatchback will do us, it's mostly for my Wife to get to work (I have my lovely Moto-Guzzi 1200 Stelvio).

Pretty-much decided on a Mazda3 now.
Looked at Focus/Astra/Corolla/Leon/Punto etc, but none of them really 'grabbed' me, far too 'plastic' inside.

Only other one I'm tempted by is the Golf, but they tend to hold their value, so within my £2500-odd budget, they're either too old (12+yrs), or too high-mileage (>80,000), or both.

Found a 57-plate 66,000 mile Mazda3 1.6 'Tamura Special Edition' near me for £2795, the guy is putting a new Clutch in it Weds.

Looked at the Bravo, and other Fiats, briefly.
Just didn't do anything for me I'm afraid!

Got a Mazda 3 now.
58 reg, 36000 miles, great condition, dark metallic blue.
Mum threw some cash into the pot, so we could afford to go younger/lower mileage!
