Hi,

It has been 4 weeks since I bought my Multipla 1.9 2007 model and everything has been fine until this morning.
The car has done around 65000 miles, I have done about 1500 faultless miles which is a mixture of motorway (15 mins) and B roads (20 mins). Coming off the motorway this morning the car was idling as if it was running on 3 cylinders, when driving is doesn't miss a beat at all but the idling is atrocious.
What type of OBD adaptor will I need (1 or 2) so that I can find out the error codes, if any.
Things that were different yesterday/today...
I have driven slower as the fuel consumption gauge was saying that I was getting 36mpg (I am sure I was getting more though).
It was 2 degrees this morning so cooler.
I filled up the tank yesterday.(form about 1 quarter full)
Normally it takes around 4 seconds of turning over to start the car if left over 8 hours or so....about 2 seconds otherwise.
Cambelt and glowplugs were changed about a year ago.

Hopefully someone has some ideas

thanks

Check for any split pipes and also listen for any unusual noises under the bonnet. Does it feel like it is running on three or just sound like it ? Is there any vibration when you pull off ? After 2004 they use a normal OBD2 but you really want to get an elm327 and a copy of Multiecuscan

Hi

Thanks for your reply, it felt as if the car was shaking due to the uneven idle it was fine when I started it and drove ok for 20 mins then had this issue - but lo and behold today it is fine, its as if I dreamed it! I will get an elm327.

thanks

That's FIAT for you....running low on Pasta :) I know this sounds odd but the crankshaft pulleys on those engines go at around your sort of mileage and cause all sorts of spurious shaking and juddering that you feel may be engine mounts or clutch.

Hi
I bought an elm327 which didnt show up anything - I still get the spluttering/uneven idling but only intermittently and in all different weathers and temperatures. One thing I have now noticed if I stop switch off wait 10 seconds and start the engine again it runs fine.
thanks
