The the Multipla already a classic? This weekend I was visiting the inlaws and one of the neighbours specifically came to talk because of the Multipla! He had one for ten years etc etc. There's a lot of debate about what defines a classic car at the moment, I think that if it strikes up a conversation that's a good enough criteria for me.

Is there a emoticon for "tongue in cheek" by the way???

Well, they are getting rarer,I think will be a design classic for sure. I drove mine to the Kent police family open day last Sunday, and the parking officer gave me a VIP space because he had fond memories of owning a Multipla !
Multipla owners have the classic love/ hate relationship! I'm on my 4th now.

Since buying ours in April, my daughters love playing the " spot another ugly bug" game when we're out and about, and I've got to say that we really haven't seen many at all. I joke with my wife that it won't be long before they are being restored to a high standard and popping up at classic car shows and that is why I should be spending a bit more time fixing our one (y)

It wasn't that many years ago that they were everywhere:)

There are only 5 in my area that I have seen on a regular basis. Before buying the Zafira I was looking for a low mileage 2008-2010 model but either they went before I got to them AND they were all up North or doing a MOT History check online showed that they probably weren't worth buying.

There was Gold one on Autotrader a few days ago with supposedly 66K on the clock. Except when I put the REG into the MOT History tool the car had done nearer to 90K (n)

Give it another 10 years and the roundnose will be gaining (low value) classic status. There won't be many of them left by then though. I've just had a look at the latest figures on the How Many Left site. In the 3 years between Q1 2013 and Q1 2016, very nearly 5,000 Multiplas have been scrapped. There are now just over 8,000 of the 16,500-ish UK cars left, including those on SORNs, which make up roughly 1/6th of the total.

Not good reading :(
