I've been thinking about CC for a while and to that end acquired a CC stalk, thinking that it wouldn't be to much of a task to retro fit.
Inspecting my 04 JTD Multi I find I don't have the in built plug at the steering wheel, so the simple way is out. Searching under the bonnet, I cannot find the brown plug that the Stilo boy's are all talking about.
So, I have no plug under the steering wheel or D4A (brown) plug near the battery, is there a way to fit CC, if so, does anyone have the know how to explain it please?.
I have read so many pages of text on here and on the Stilo section regarding CC that I'm beginning to go gaga.
I realise it won't be easy if the Multi was never designed to have CC as a factory option, but with so many Fiat's sharing the same engines and components surely it can't be impossible?
I am aware that aftermarket CC are available, though the £400+ (fitted) price tag is a bit off putting.
Any help, comment or suggestion will be gratefully received.
Cheers
George

Subscribing as I'm interested in this too, mines a 2007 multijet, when I hook up to multiscan cruise control is listed in the parameters.
What's the stilo method, something plug and play?

I did a whole write up on this a year ago. Do a search, I even provided all the pinouts. It was NOT a fiat system but works a charm. Mine was lower than £400 but not much I must be honest. However I believe you can get the exact same system off BangGood now for MUCH less

Thanks for your reply glowplug.
I did a search for 'cruise control' but couldn't find your post, am I looking in the wrong place? Please help.
Is BangGood one of our members or found somewhere else?
If you think my questions are a bit naff, imagine the torment I go thru everyday living with a 'brain' like mine :)

I remember seeing something on the marea forum a while ago.
Will recheck that too. I can't afford or justify spending much cash on it really. It would be nice to have though as we do a lot of motorway miles.

my findings;
from my failed attempt at fitting / "enabling" a working FIAT spec. cruise
to my 2001 110 JTD Marea..,
it transpires there were 2 x ECU specs,
and although mine has all the options when "read" in MES, :)
the actual ECU doesn't support it, :bang:
I'd hope your 2007 should,
but an early '00's FIAT may still be a 50/50 chance.

Glowplug, Steve20vt & varesecrazy:

Thank you for all your input, it has been very helpful.

Strange that Fiat can produce so many vehicles that are very similar - BUT NOT THE SAME! :bang:
It must be an Italian thing?
Obviously, there are a few loose ends to tidy up, so, here goes...

Feel free to add me to your 'hit list' if I'm driving you to distraction :D

Glowplug:
In your write up you mentioned setting the parameters so that the ECU(?) would know that it now has CC, would you kindly expand on that please, a basic run round will do because my nephew has a piece of kit that might be useful here, providing I can give him a basic outline of what is to be done.
Also, (excuse my ignorance) what is the TPS?
Anything an idiot needs to know - is what I need to know (I'm a mechanical engineer but will play with sparks if given fool proof direction)
P/S: You said BangGood might have one cheaper, how can I contact him please.

Steve20vt: If you can dig up anything, it can only be useful, thank you.

varesecrazy: My bug is a 2004 ELX 1.9 JTD Multipla, is there anyway to identify the ECU's that will or will not support CC?

Once again a BIG thank you for all your assistance, I know it can be a pain to relive posts that, in themselves, should be fool proof, only to find the 'FOOL' that can't quite 'see' the point.

Cheers

Thanks for that Charlie, makes things much easier to understand.

Abbreviations are all ok, but we can't know em all can we - well, when you're operating with grey matter like mine you can't

Cheers

Sorry Oletimer, I got your PM but I see varesecrazy has already answered the TPS query. BangGood is a Chinese equivalent of eBay but I have checked and they are no longer listing the kit. As for the calibration of the system the instructions for this come with the kit.
