Hi All

Mk 2 Multipla 1.6 petrol.

1. We broke the aerial off in the car wash today. Replacements on Ebay look fairly cheap. I presume you get to the mounting by removing the mirror control panel in the roof? Does it just prise out?

2. Occasionally the engine stalls when coming to a halt at the traffic lights especially if you stop a bit quicker than normal. We're getting the garage to look at it as we've got 3 months' warranty but it would be nice to have a clue as to the cause and what to do to fix it?

3. How do you reset the service indicator? It's not on yet but as I do all my own servicing (the basic stuff anyway) it would be nice to be able to reset it. The owner's manual says go to a Fiat garage.

Thanks

Yes about the aerial. Take off the inside light and it'll expose the nut that holds the aerial on.
The stalling could be the crank sensor, map sensor or the idle control valve. Mine did the stalling thing. I took the throttle body off and cleaned it. Changed the crank sensor (the car flew after I did this) and the map sensor just take out and spray with carb cleaner. I also took the battery off overnight to reset the ecu so it could learn new settings.
As for the service light mines not got one as mines the mk1

Well it's all moot for the time being. Started the car this morning and it sounds like a bag of nails. Something definitely wrong at the top end of the engine, could be tappets could be cambelt. The garage should be coming to tow it back tomorrow.

Alternatively, look at "Removing the Interior Light Assembly.pdf" in the "Interior/Exterior Fittings" section here:

It doesn't detail the removal of the aerial base, but gives better detail on removing the interior light unit. They are fiddly things to replace and corrosion in the aerial cable contacts can be a problem. Reception on mine has never been great but I haven't bothered to do anything about it, other than to fit a Pure Highway DAB unit.

I bought a new base off eBay. Less than a tenner. Mine was really easy. I haven't got a sunroof to deal with though.

Well the rattling was apparently down to a faulty auxiliary belt tensioner and the stalling down to a blocked breather pipe or so they said. Anyway it's now much smoother and seems to have more power (relatively speaking).
