You sound like you've got airlocks and it almost certainly needs bleeding.

Don't know what engine you've got, but whatever it is, open the heat fully on the heater and find some bleed points (check around your pipes) or failing that open the highest pipe you can find a tad and let the air find a way out.

If it's a JTD 1.9 (the only one I'm familiar with) Theres bleed points over the back ofthe engine and in the pipe that runs along the front of the block near the radiator. Or there is on mine, anyway...

Done nothing but bleed it for 2 days had a hose in the pipes 1 hose disconnected water pours out just no heat and it is a 1.9 diesel, took the thermo sender out to make sure I haven't bent a pin (it has 3) gona get on a steep slope tomorrow but think it could be electrical now as I have never this much trouble just bleeding a heater in the past

Are the pipes heating up as the should, and getting hot to the heater through the bulkhead? If so you must have dislodge something thats blocking the heater matrix??

Had it up on ramps and on a incline still no heat, took out the pollen filter still no heat just hope its a damp plug or something silly as things did get wet, any ideas anyone ?

Can we go back to the start?

You say you replaced the thermostat and water pump. Did you have cabin heating before that, or was that an attempt to to get the heater working? Did you say on another thread that the old pump had fallen to bits, or was that someone else?

Heat was fine before replacing them, the car just ran cool and the water pump destroyed its self I have noticed the water pipes connect at a z like angle would that stop the flow ? I had the car in the air on ramps but not high enough I don't think, thanks for the help

Can you post a photo of the thermostat, with all the pipes connected? You say the water pump destroyed itself - when you removed it, was it complete, or were there bits (vanes) missing?

The bearing was worn and the pulley was wobbling, the impeller had detached its self in one piece I'll try and post a pic later, the cam belt was rubbing on the cover lucky it didn't come off !!!

Official bleeding sequence...2 bleed points on top of rad...then bleed point going around right hand side of engine, and lasts the metal pipe that runs across the front of the engine. Rinse and repeat a few times.
You mention your pump fell apart a bit...possible that part of it has lodged in heating matrix?
Marty.

No I filled to the full mark, the impeller came off in one piece so no bits in engine I'll keep trying then it's cold driving to work so need to get it working mite have to be Saturday now, thanks for all replies

Fill it WAY above the full mark and bleed with the cap off...I found it's helpful to wrap your lips around the bottle and blow into it while bleeding..
Once your happy it's bled you can drain out the excess from bottom of rad or suck it out of bottle with a syringe of a vac pump if u have one.

Tried blowing down the bottle was hard I will try again weekend just have to wrap up for my 60 mile commute ?

Rite just tried again filled expansion bottle to the top, bled the two bleed screws on top of the radiator, bled bulk head hose, then the metal pipe across the front of the engine and still cold ? 3 degrees this morning froze driving to work, any more ideas ?

A very constant 4 now where before the thermo change it was 1 to 2, is there an actuator that opens a flap any ware ?

I reckon you have a blockage to your rad behind dash...can you hook up a hose to it independantly...flush it both directions maybe.
Also as you changed stat there are 5 hoses that go onto it...IIRC it's possible mix up 2 of these at the back...the rest fall into position pretty much.
Marty.
