All the time. I've had it come and go when revving past 3000 revs but today it's solid and constant ??

I'm secretly hoping it's some after effect of that flooding but will get that ELM cable ordered as my old vagcom one isn't recognised.

It's always something isn't it?!

Hopefully the ELM cable will be with you soon. Without reading the codes we'd just be guessing. Get the kids outside locating every connector they can see, so that more fun can be had with the hairdryer.

Well it's a beautiful day out there... ?

Nothing is loose.

MIL light still comes on on idle and stays on.

But when I tried to start the car it wouldn't start, twice it turned over and almost almost started but changed its mind and then on the third go it started up.

Awaiting cable, not checked power to starter yet.

And I remembered I have a normal ODB2 reader so I went out in the dark, plugged it in, waited and waited and no MIL light...!!!

I know I shouldn't complain but I also know it will probably be back.

But isn't it just typical?

Did you upgrade to windows 10 ? I did and my elm reader wouldn't connect, had to down load the USB driver again from a link on thefiatecuscan website change some settings (latency to 1) and it works again now

No I didn't, but I know my sister is struggling loads with nothing being compatible with win10...
Old one was xp or vista really can't remember new one is 8, had fiatECUScan before, now had to get multiECUScan...

Saying that I tried my normal ODB2 reader and that doesn't connect either.

Will be pissed off if I spend £15 buying an ELM cable which won't connect

When the cable comes, try the procedure in post 5 here: https://www.fiatforum.com/panda/352156-fiatecuscan.html
Hopefully that will still work with Win10.

portland_bill you are my favourite person in the world right now I'm sure...
Followed your procedure to the letter and got my vagcom (yes I know, shocked much?!) to read the ECU

After I cleared them and restarted timing/revs one came up ... Soooo timing is out... That explains the shaking too doesn't it?

I'm almost due a cam belt change so probably just get that done

More likely no signal from cam position sensor. You need to remove timing belt covers to get at this anyway so maybe best do it unless somebody here has seen that message before and points u in a different direction like crank position sensor which is more likely due to its location suffer flood damage.
Marty.

So far people are pointing me in all different direction lol... A long weekend and a dry garage is required for sure

I think it unlikely that the cam timing would change due to a flood, so the crank and cam sensors are more likely. More work with the hairdryer perhaps?

It's a lovely sunny day here, I imagine you are out attacking it as I type.

Sadly I couldn't. My daughters 5th birthday so had guests a d party and dinner guests...

I did notice oil sensor is not working either. ?

Speaking of timing etc, it's been hesitant starting on the cold days lately (couple weeks) before the whole puddle driving thing.

Tomorrow I'll be emptying the now overfull oil ??, so can have a look hopefully.
