Hi evry1. I am wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows which is the best way to progress with it. First of all the car was running sweet apart from the odd loss of power when revs were low. ( usually after a long desent or coasting ) when i applied power it would fail to rev freely and slowly build up the revs to a point where it would spring back into life usually spining the wheels and making me look a right cu*t!. The problem slowly progressed and got worse. to doing it all the time ( over many weeks).
I unplugged the air flow meter which erradicated the problerm. Only that the car is running in a sort of limp mode, lacking about 20-30 % of normal power. ( engine management light on ), I replaced the air flow meter to no avail. Fault codes are saying boost controll valve, but the auto data on diagnostics is not listing the car as having one on this model??? any advice GREATLY appreciated. thanks for reading fellow multipla lovers :)

1) Buy box of rubber gloves, 1 tin brake cleaner, 1 tin WD40

2) Strip and clean EGR valve, blank it if you want, but that's up to you. You can do most of it in situ buy taking the corrugated pipe of one end and the solenoid off the other, or you can take it right off. Either way it's a fiddly moo of a job and wear three pairs of rubber gloves.
Make sure a) the valve works freely and springs back on it's own and b) the solenoid functions. Brake cleaner for the worst, then WD40.

3) Take out and clean thoroughly the boost sensor - ACHTUNG!! don't clean it with anything except brake cleaner, ie don't rub it or wipe it, just wash it out

4) Try it now...

5) If still rubbish, check all vacuum pipework and the turbo control valve - could be anywhere depending, but if you trace back the vacuum pipe from the turbo you'll find it eventually. Clean it and check it, especially the filter making sure it can breathe OK.

6) If it's still cr*p, post again :D
