Hi again all, it's been a while and my Multi passed its MOT but since then it seems to be falling apart, well exhaust blowing and front suspension super noisy, none of which was even advised, BUT yesterday the horn stopped working...

Fuse is ok, but my laptop screen is broken (and I can't even blame the kids ?) so can't check e learn , can someone help me out and tell me where to find it to check or known issues please?

Thanks!

It's probably the coil inside the horn that's seized up. Same thing has happened to mine (one of the MOT failure items :( ). I couldn't see a way to open it up, so just bought a new one off ebay.

I think there's also a horn relay, so it may be worth checking that out too.

There was a query a while back about horn location, see this thread: https://www.fiatforum.com/multipla/359212-beep-you-horn-new-nose.html

The handbook should tell you which relay (if fitted) does the horn.
Horn will have two wires. Sometimes they are fed live, and the horn push earths it, others feed the horn when pressed.

I think the live is pink or purple. Could be live now, or only when pressed.
Other wire, black I think, could be earth or connection back to the horn push.

Could put leads from battery across horn and see if it squeaks. (I would if connected to a battery!) Good luck.

Presumably you're viewing this on your phone, so the pic might be difficult.

From eLearn, it appears that the horns might be together, under the offside headlamp. Possibly hiding behind the wheelarch liner.

Fed by Fuse 13, 20A
Through relay R2.

Both fed by a purple wire, with a black earth from the horns.

Need to find the horns and check connections there.

The horn is easy to find on the roundnose:

https://www.fiatforum.com/multipla/321816-05-multipla-horn.html

But not so easy on the squarenose. I've not had occasion to look for one on the latter, but have a feeling it's hidden by the wheelarch liner (can't find the thread where this is mentioned). For the horn relay, this may help:

https://www.fiatforum.com/multipla/313041-multipla-horn-relay-12v-20-amp-where-get-one.html

As pb says, putting a couple of jump wires to the horn direct from the battery will tell you if the horn itself is at fault. If it's ok, then the relay would be next likely culprit.

Ok, think this thread contains all info I need now, thank you...

So i don't have jump leads...got a battery charger, can I use that? ?

Don't see why not. Or a length of household flex stripped back at the ends to suit. A horn won't draw massive amounts of current & you only need to fire it up for a second to see if it works

...Mmmmm. Definitely not 'factory fit'. Also looks like your car had the two-tone horns fitted at some point, judging by the bracket.

Anyway - it's fixed. Yaaayyy! (y) As my kids would say.....

"Two-tone horn" sounds very interesting.... And yes fixed which is the main thing here ?

So where was the horn located in the end?

I'm tired so if I missed the post excuse me.
