Hi, I have just purchased a Fiat Multipla 1.9JTD Eleganza 2006 with 69000 miles. Had a few problems with the MAF now sorted. Today I got in the car and started first thing I noticed was the clock was showing the wrong time, then I noticed none of the gauges were working, I checked the fuses none faulty, any ideas please.

Yesterday the clock came back, and today all the other instruments started working I am now thinking bad earth

There was a thread on here a few weeks back where a guy had the same problem, I think he checked a lot of stuff before finding out it was a bad earth connection to the battery.

Hi,

Thought I would let you know that I cleaned out the earth under the battery tray, wasn't too bad, but I noticed that the battery tray had been removed before, and when it was re-installed, the wiring loom had been pinched, so I repaired the loom with insulating tape, possible the fault was caused by ingress of water, find out next time it rains!
