Hi all I'm venturing into that simple area of Italian electrics so I'm reaching out to you!

My cars rear fog light doesn't light up. The bulbs okay but there's no feed to it. As I have been investigating I notice that a relay isn't firing when the switch is pressed. press the front fog light and you hear a click, the rear window isolators and you'll u hear a click, the heated rear window is the same, but from the rear fog light, no click.

I wonder if anyone has had a similar problem, or if someone knows the location of this relay. I've checked all of the fuses and they are all fine (we all know they are where the book says they are!) So I'm now stumped.

A wiring diagram would be helpful in case there is no relay....

Hi no takers then!

I checked the google site for this multipla, which shows a year 2000 multipla by the fuses are the wrong way round and there's far fewer relays than in mine.

As we're here, please would someone mind lifting out their tray above the fuse box and making a note of which relays clicks, what colour it is, and where it is located?

Cheers

Have you had a look at the one in the electrics section here?:

https://sites.google.com/site/fiatmultipla/Home/repairs

A black relay in the FuesesandRelaysInsidethecar PDF is tagged with "Fog light relay J40" but it doesn't say if that's for front or rear fogs. It says Fuse 3 is the one for the rear foglight, along with the sunroof relay. Does your sunroof work?

EDIT: Just realised that's probably the one you mentioned. Ooops. But just checked the handbook for my 2004 roundnose and that does at least say that the rear fog light fuse is No.3 - the same as in the link.

Hi WMF

That was the site that I looked at, but I gave up when I realized that my fuses are at 90 degrees to the one in the picture! My sun roofs(??) are working perfectly, and I've checked all fuses are ok. I think relay J40 is the one that it states is present on the 2000 SX model, which didn't have fog lights, so I've assumed that it must be the fronts.

I've sat pressing all buttons, and feeling the various relays as I do so, however I have assumed that there is a relay for them, but I don't know this is the case.

Would you be able to have a look for me, as to the relay that clicks when the fog lights are on? I've got the MOT and have to sort this and the reverse light, but I know that's been caused by chafing on the loom where it drops down to the gear box switch. It flickers if you move the loom. Hopefully there's nothing else to go on it, otherwise it's goodbye from me!

Hi WMF

Apologies for not appearing to have replied sooner. I did on my Kindle on Saturday night, but it doesn't appear to have posted as requested!

Sorry to hear about the state of play of yours, what needs doing to it? I've booked some time for today, so hopefully with some prodding and poking, I'll get there, without breaking it even further!

Cheers
