With the arse of my ugly bug as rusty as the Titanic it's time to start looking for an alternative mode of carrying me, the wife and four kids (and a jack russell) on our days out. The only car I'd really consider due to its same seat arrangement is the FR-V. Has anyone driving one or even own one? Any opinions welcome.

They're a step up in quality, but nowhere near as roomy or practical as a Multipla. The 2.2 diesel engine is a very nice unit. I'd recommend going to find one and get yourself a test drive as, other than them both having the same 3+3 seating, they are very different beasts.

From what I,e heard they're definitely a step up in quality. Beware the front middle seat: it's not the full width I understand, maybe fine for kids though.

It wouldn't be hard to be a step up in quality...but doesn't look anywhere near as practical. It's also well over 3 times the price of the equivalent jtd

We test drove one a few years back, they do feel very well made and the engine , although apparently hondas first diesel, was strong and pulled well.
The front middle seat however was tiny and there just wasn't the space in all other areas.
Nice motor though all the same, just not for us.

Hmm, I like the room the multi has to be fair but just not the upkeep bills for rust repairs! I'm sure it would be a step up in quality and refinement but with kids at 5,4,3,2 years old it will still get a brave bit of abuse so maybe a multi would be the better option. I'm just stuck for choice here in Northern Ireland as they rarely come up for sale unless they are a parts donor or very near it!
