i let one of my friends borrow my multipla a few days ago to pick some stuff up from b&q as his car wasn't big enough for what he wanted so we took the seats out and away he went on his way , when he got back he looked a bit sheepish and said 'i've had a bit of an accident' well my heart sank i was expecting dented bodywork , cracked windscreen etc but he said he'd managed to crack the clocks while putting some timber in it :( , now my question is if i get some replacement clocks showing 140k which i found pretty cheap is the mileage recorded on the clocks or the ecu as the mileage on mine was 80k it doesn't really matter as all the miles are backed up on the paperwork i have for the car cheers

Mileage is stored in both the dash and the ecu. But this shouldn't be a problem. If it's just cracked I'd get a decent second hand set and remove the front and swap them over. So you keep your original clocks but just change the outer casing.

if it was just the plastic that was cracked i could live that but what i forgot to mention was that the speedo face has a pretty nice dent in it making it about as much use as a chocolate fireguard :(
