Hi all can anyone confirm if auto data is correct or has made a mistake it says the JTD engines do not need there injection pumps timing up as its all done electronically ? Any help would be great I timed up my still multi wagon pump by using white paint on the pulleys and covers but was then told it didn't matter for the pump ?

True, common rail engine only generates pressure pump .

Completely true.
Even though our local diesel "expert" wouldn't believe me and told me to eff-off and fix the car myself if I knew so much about it.
The car was pushing out white smoke like a machine at a rave, I thought it was water in the diesel; he said the timing belt had slipped and the pump needed re-timing.
So I did eff-off, cleaned out the tank and filter and was up and running the next day.
Maybe classic tractors are his thing.

So how did that lot come to be in the filter in the first place?!

I'm guessing just build up from bad diesel, condensation. That image was after settling for a few days.
