Right, Me again...i Know theres been plenty of threads about loss of power over 3000 rpm... But mine has just started .

Engine management light comes on and power drops somewhere just over 3000.
How worried should I be about this?

And why, why, why does it all happen just months before MOT? Lol

it could be something of a number of things the best thing to do is get a code reader i got one for mine it was only £9.99 with free postage off ebay

Lol, didn't even think of that, I have a cable but FIAT Ecu scan on my old laptop, just need to put in on my new laptop and go for a drive

I should be ashamed of myself but I haven't got any further to solving this... MOT and, well life, has gotten in the way lol.

The new ECU software doesn't recognise my cable or port or whatever, can't remember, but I never did manage to use it....

but does it make sense to anyone that tMIL light comes on ALWAYS just around 3000 revs unless it's raining????? In which case it drives like normal...

I had sort of hoped that the issue was the leaky exhaust

It's funny, when it rains, everything works fine. Reversing sensors, boot lock, I even get better radio reception. 4th gear also makes an appearance
Maybe I should think about moving to Scotland

Hahaha! I had a moped when I was 15 which didn't run at all when it rained...
But yes that is funny. Scotland here we come then I reckon lol

Hey Jen hav u checked the boost actuator mine plays up wen it feels like it just hit 3000rpm beep engine light on engine control fault contact garage ,but I greased the actuator shaft and it hasn't done it for months now

Nope... Mine, after having done this for months, hasn't done it since it rained the other day... I have no doubt it will start again so will look into it then. Thanks!
