I swear, MOT time is more stressful than just about any other thing a guy can experience.
I've got four kids, and I don't think any of their births made me so nervous as handing a car over to the MOT tester does

Anyway, one track-rod end, both number-plate lights, and the ARB bushes (so only one genuine failure point then (y)
ARB assembly will be off for the re-test, bushes available (at last) from at least three local spares shops (but only on special order), and I need it re-tested this morning.

Plan 'B' . . .
Leave the ARB in place and wait for the Bushes (in at 3pm).
Bar won't come out without dropping the rear of the Subframe (or so it looks), so it'll have to be done now.

You don't need to drop the subframe to remove the ARB. It's a bit like a chinese puzzle but you can remove it if the car is jacked up high enough.

:yeahthat:
I took it out from drivers side. Seem to recall something to do with the coil of the metal power steering pipe getting in the way and making it impossible to do from the nearside.

I couldn't be a**ed to try to get it out to be honest.
My last one broke (on my original Multi), so that came out really easy!

Anyhow, got the new bushes, put the bulbs in the back, replaced Track-rod end, got it re-tested, all in time to pick up Wifey from work and Daughter from College.

Would like to report it's now completely noise-free . . . but it ain't :bang:
Still has a very slight rattle from the front somewhere, which doesn't occur when cornering, and doesn't really coincide with bumps/dips in the road, it's only when going straight on fairly smooth roads.
Guessing it may be one of the lower arm bushes?

. . . wonder if your wife agrees? Lol . . .
If she ever takes a car for an MOT, I'll ask her (y)

Found some pics from when I did mine. Definitely came out on (UK) near-side by passing it above the subframe. Didn't detach or have to shift anything else :slayer:

Bu**er, failed.
Left Position Light Bulb.
Left Trailing Arm play.

Not too bad really.
I suspect the movement in the Trailing Arm Pivot may be a bit of slop in the Bolt hole, will find out soon enough . . .
