Considering it hadn't turned a wheel in about 5 months and had been outside all winter, I'm not surprised. Failed on:
Horn not working. It always sounded like an apologetic mouse fart anyway, so I won't feel too aggrieved at having to replace it.
NSR coil spring broken. That's BOTH of them broken within 2 1/2 years / 20k miles of me fitting them. NEVER, EVER, EVER buy KYB SPRINGS. THEY ARE ****.
Excessive play in OSF bottom balljoint. Parts made of cheese, purveyed by ziggyA2Z on ebay strikes again. Getting some Lemforder ones this time as the novelty of replacing them every 5 minutes is wearing thin.
To be fair, I was marvelling at how smooth and rattle free the car felt, driving ti to the MOT station. Far, far better than the wasp nest cacophony of squeaks and rattles that used to accompany me on every journey in the Scenic. It feels a much firmer ride than I remember. Nice to be back in it though, even if it was only for a short time. Like a hug from an old friend
Right, I'm off to google to find some decent springs....
