This is a big lump I'm talking about - it covers the entire underside of the engine bay. There wasn't one on mine when I bought it (it was nearly five years old & 100k+ miles by then, so had ample opportunity to be 'mislaid') but I'm curious as to what it would fix to.
I've bought a new radiator cross rail and it has two tangs on it that serve no apparent purpose. They're on the old cross rail as well and nothing is fixed to them. I wondered if they're there for the undertray.
My current Multi has one fitted, my original one didn't.
Pain in the a**e when you want a quick look/fiddle underneath
The front edge fits via two bolts and rubber fittings bolted to it, they slip over the two-fingered prong things at the front.
Rear bolts up to the subframe (I think), couple of bolts screws in the sides at the front as well.
Nearly lost it a few days back.
Went to pick my Son up from work, he'd started walking back.
I pulled off the road onto the grass verge, which was just high enough to catch the tray and pop the front off the mountings.
When I pulled back onto the road and got to about 30, the airflow forced the front down onto the road, made a nice grating sound!
Pulled up again to see what it was (I had guessed what it was anyway).
One of the bolts with the rubber bung was gone, so I hooked the other one back in place, and tied an old bootlace round the other side . . . it's still like that!
I have one, it is in pristine condition and gives me great mpg because of the aerodynamics.
It is velour on the inside and helps keep the engine clean and warm.
