For the first time since taking over the driving of the Multipla from my wife I have had cause to take it on a long trip. In this case up to Manchester and Warrington where I had business. The round trip consumption was 49.08MPG measured the correct way via a brim to brim fill at the exact same pump to ensure no variance of ground level.
Whilst I am still not a fan of the Multipla I must say I am very impressed. Not only with the consumption but the general drivability of the car. The trip was also the opportunity for me to test out my newly fitted cruise control which worked flawlessly and was definitely worth every penny of the investment.
Interestingly, as has been confirmed before the difference between the recorded MPG and the real was +- 20%. The clock stated 41.9 MPG vs the real of 49.08 meaning the car records MPG in US terms.
