Hello everyone,
I am a bit of a newbie to certain aspects of the JTD 105 Multipla, (despite now having 3 of them). I have intermittent coolant signal faults when I read the error codes with ecuscan.
My question is what is the exact manipulation to disconnect the coolant temperature sensor on the back of the ? thermostat housing on the RHS of the engine- it looks like a simple white connector, but I can't feel or see any security tags and am loath to force it.
Is there a hidden clip or summat? Has a previous gorilla broken the fitting?
The other question is are there any other coolant sensors on the engine or the radiator that might need cleaning up?
many thanks for any info.
Mike

Well with mine the coolant sensor just unscrews from the body of the thermostat housing. Changed mine about 6 months ago because the car wasn't registering any temp whatsoever. They are all taper fit (irrespective of car) so will feel really tight to start off with. I used plumbers teflon tape on the threads of the new one just to ensure their would be no leaks.

Maybe post a picture of yours to highlight the issue. The plug on mine is black so better make 100% sure we are talking about the same thing.

It's OK, I was referring to the electrical connector on top of the thermostat temp sensor, I managed to finally ease the connector out by damaging my fingers (again), cleaned the contacts but the fault persists, so it's time to replace the thermostat complete unit as the heating doesn't work either!
