While there's still time before it's mot and I need to inspect my front brakes anyway, I think I should investigate the noise my Multi has developed from the front when steering wheel is turned...

My kids say it's a guinneapig kind of noise, make sense to people? Lol.

Mine started doing that sometime after having the front discs done. I'm fairly certain that it was either the protective metal plate on the inside of the disc rubbing on the disc or a bit of dirt/debris getting stuck between said plate and the disc.

In any case, I solved it by pushing the plate away from the disc with a screwdriver. Hope that helps?

Would that be the noise the guinea pig makes if you stand on it! Seriously, there are a number of things the noise could be from the power steering pump, auxiliary belt, lower wishbones or top suspension mountings. I am sure a technician will quickly diagnose it.
Regards
Stephen

Well that's kind of handy then as the discs and pass need replacing ?

Track rod end...

I'm ashamed to say it's taken me this long to get the car up to check it (but feel I need to point out I've had two Childrens birthdays and one child in hospital with appendicitis so been a bit busy ?) but did so today and the noise is very clearly from the track rod end, and rather amazingly I've got some of those laying about... IF I can remove the old one that is, seems pretty stuck on

Selling my beautiful black 17" alloys, any interest?
