Seems my fan only works at speed 4, thought it could be the resistor at fault but today it started working at speed 3 for a good while, would this maybe point to a bad connection somewhere? Is the fan wiring under the footrest in the middle up front or am I mistaken?

Yep, passenger side foot well. There's a connector block within which the wiring connections tend to break down. Most who've had a problem with it tend to cut it out completely and use a chunky choc block to reconnect the wires, or solder the wires together and cover with heatshrink.

Will get it looked at when I have some free time, cheers

Does anyone know if the location is the passager boot on both right and left steerers? (mirrored placement)

I guess i have the same issue since my 2001 petrol only runs at full speed.

Also, if someone have a picture of the resistor pack this would be helpful, so that I know what to look for.

I am answering my own question. On my 2001 petrol multipla the resistor pack is located in the front of the fan assembly in the passager boot aeria. Two pz2 screws holds the resistor pack in its casing. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures. In my specific case the heat fuse was blown. i soldered in a fuse from a scraped car and now it is all working fine. 20 min of work including scavaging and soldering. With a proper spare part i guess it can be done i 5 mins.
