Hey all, if you remember I had the issue with lights fluttering when the alternator wires were exposed... And the oil level went up and down... And no readings were being renewed...

Well the two first ones were sorted by taping up the exposed wire, but I still don't get any mpg readings etc.

Before I start checking fuses I thought I'd check here in case it's an obvious fault to some of you. So any tips welcome... Please

I feel that a fuse would be too simple an answer for this car and it's much more likely to be some tiny sensor in an awkward place somewhere . ;)

So you get no response from the buttons for the display?

What about water temp bars, do they show?

What does it show when you switch on, does it run through the 'check' sequence?

Hmmm, actually everything seems just like normal and fine. the fuel consumption etc shows but the number never changes. A d this goes for everything apart from mileage and clock...

It's not a massive deal really just odd

Press the 'Trip' button to cycle through the various info readouts. When you get to Trip or Fuel consumption, press and hold 'Trip' for about 3-4 seconds. That should zero the display.

If you haven't reset in ages, the fuel consumption readout won't move much at all as it's averaging out its figures over a very long period. If you reset, it's working things out over a much shorter interval, so you'll see a lot more change.

The Trip mileage though, should obviously be changing as you put miles on!

Well that was annoying... A lot of pressing of buttons was needed to get anything at all to happen....and when all the pressing got a result it was a bit random wether I got the trip reading up or the setup...

So button is sticky/unresponsive is all I've been able to establish so far...

In a more positive note, I've received that alternator voltage output gizmo I ordered and the readings seem stable at 13.7-13.8. Assuming this is all good and normal .?
