Just down loaded the 5 parts of multipla rar file.
Tried a few free programs to try and put it together.
I have ended up with elearn icon on desktop but I am asked for a cd when I try and run it.
What am I doing wrong?

Nothing.... the icon on your desktop means you have installed the eLEARN interface. All the data remains on the CD, therefore the CD must be in the CD drive whenever you use the program, unless you install it to a virtual drive.
