Hi Guys.

Recently, my 115 JTD has started to miss a beat occasionally (and sometimes stalls), then the "engine control fault" message appears and the engine management warning comes on and stays on. The car still runs fine. Sometimes the warning will go off next time I start it up, sometimes it stays on for days. Other times it won't happen for a week at a time.

Any ideas, anyone?

If the light comes on it will store a code.

Buy a cable or get someone to do a diagnostic check for you.

Then you will know.

Thanks for that. I got it tested today, and the crank position sensor was at fault (common problem apparently). New one was £25 and took less than an hour to fit. Sorted.
