Hello all I have a multipla 03 reg 1.9jtd. Yesterday the wife was taken the kids out of the car and the alarm just started going off, the key fob has never worked since i brought the car so I lock it the old fashioned way. Now when I try I to enter the car the alarm goes off when it starts the alarm continues to sound. I have tried locking/unlocking etc turning the key to mar and back 6 times doing a little spin and clap at the same time while putting the windows down but none of this seems to work. The led light is flashing once to indicate that there is a problem with the drivers door but it goes off no matter what I try and do. Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am going to take a sledgehammer to it soon. Thanks in advance

Do all Multis have alarms as standard?
My old Multi ('02 115 ELX) didn't seem to. The key had a button, but there was nothing inside, no circuitry, no battery, nothing.
My current one ('02 110 ELX) has one, the remote CL works, as does the alarm . . . when I forget occasionally and open the door with the key

Check inside your key(s), if there's the electronic gubbins inside, stick a new battery in for starters.
